Garden Street Bike Lane Analysis Update

link to report

Cycling became substantially more dangerous in the Garden Street vicinity since the November 2022 re-configuration to one-way to accommodate bike lanes. The Cycling Safety Ordinance (CS0) installation converted the road section into one-way, eliminating northbound motorist travel. Removing this vital connection has re-routed automobiles, trucks, and buses onto residential streets and arteries with far-reaching consequences. Once quiet, residential streets are less safe. Major transportation arteries suffer from far-reaching congestion that impacts families for school pickups, commuters, emergency vehicles, and residents performing their daily chores. Ironically, the change made cycling more dangerous, too.
